Ahh, first taste of blogging.

Anyways, the first thing that caught my eye in Human Communications class was the Intrapersonal Communication part. We all do it, whether its a lecturer thinking about how messed up his students are, students thinking about how messed up their lecturers are. Haha, you get my drift. But the most interesting part of it is yet to come, lucid dreaming.

Yes, lucid dreaming is part of Intrapersonal Communications.

Ok, here's the 411 on lucid dreaming. Basically, its a technique where in the lucid state, the dreamer is aware that he or she is dreaming, and can proceed to question, in-depth, each dream character, whom are necessarily understood to be part of the 'self'. This means we can take control of our dreams and proceed to do with it as we wish. Cool ? Uber cool.

You see, lucid dreaming is another way we talk to ourselves. To understand ourselves better. Yes, we do ramble incoherently in our minds throughout the day but how often do we sit back and really think deeply about our 'self' ? Needless to say, lucid dreaming may actually be a royal road into the unconscious.

So there you have it, go home, sleep, and try to flick a light switch. ;)

Secondly, Dyadic communication is also widely implemented in our daily lives. To me, out of all the possible communication types out there, this is the far most important one. Why? Our personality is shaped through this. We form powerful bonds with this, not mentioning that most of our daily communications come from this.

Alright, lets just look at one of em' . [happened just today to me]

I was just walking by casually when I noticed this smoking hot girl in One Utama. Just looking at her sent sparks down my spine. Like the picture beside. :)
Anyways,here's me applying a little Interpersonal Communication on her.

Me : Excuse me, I bet you have a beautiful smile.
Chic : ...
Me : [Smiling my arse away]
Chic : [beams]
Me : Ahah! I knew it! By the way, the name's Reshan.
Chic : Haha, Im Nithya.
Me : Awesome, nice to meet you.

And thats how a good pickup line works. Haha

You see, just a simple act like that, has interpersonal communication written all over it. Of course for most of us guys, we have like almost like an internal war of intrapersonal communications going on inside of us.

Should I? Shouldn't I? Maybe shes too high standard. Maybe she's not my type. What if she says no? What if she turns me down? We battle through all of this before we even build up the guts to talk to a girl. My best bet on this is to JUST TALK TO HER !!

Anyways,apart from this, a lot of interpersonal communications go on here. Firstly, nonverbal cues. Do you know that this plays a huge huge factor when we men approach women? Slouching is a no-no. How we lean towards them or away from them also plays a major role. Then, we have the verbal cues. The trick here is to play it smooth. Start with an interesting pick up line. Not those cheesy ones like

Am I dead, Angel? Cause this must be heaven!
YOU WISH !!

Haha, once these are done, bon voyage!
See, even a normal situation like this has so many complex stages of dyadic communications. So far, Ive been able to relate this unit(Human Communications) to my life in so many ways.
Cant wait to see whats next in store.
